As a homeowner and member of the DC community I saw a need for DC homeowners who are interested in completing their own home repair projects to get advice, encouragement and have a place to share their completed projects. Home repair isn't rocket science, but there are plenty of 'gotchas' from permitting, to planning, to finishing touches. Many of DC homes are older and many have been treated poorly, while the cost of certain trades folks for small and medium projects are way outside of the budget for most DIYers.
